704,484. Electric firelighters. JOHNSON, G. Sept. 11. 1952 [Nov. 13, 1951]. No. 26497/51. Class 39 (3) A portable electric firelighter comprises a metal casing having apertured top and bottom plates 31, 1 separated by a peripheral wall 2, a handle 10, and an electric heating element 14 disposed beneath the top plate 31 which provides radial solid bars 37 to protect the element 14. The bottom of the casing is apertured at 8, and the lid 31, which is apertured at 36, is removably fitted to the casing which contains a continuous heating coil 14 supported on radial insulating sleeves 15 which are mounted on removable metal rods 16 supported at each end in holes 13, 9 in a central boss 12 and in the wall 2 respectively. The leads to the coil 14 are taken out through the hollow handle 10. The wall 2 is a flange on the bottom plate 1 and fits inside a flange 33 on the top plate 31, pips 11 on the flange 2 entering recesses 35 on the flange 33.
