Abstract

757,935. Electric space heaters. IMBER RESEARCH, Ltd. Jan. 21, 1955 [Jan. 27, 1954], No. 2525/54. Class 39(3). An electric space heating unit comprises an open-topped base 1 which supports two parallel sided looped heating elements 7, 8 formed of metal-cased insulated wire and surrounded by a metal chimney 19. Air inlets are provided by perforations in the walls of the base 1 and by spacing the chimney 19 slightly above a ring 4 to which the elements are clamped and which is removably secured in the top of the base. An indicator lamp socket is also mounted on the ring 4. The unit is adapted to replace the oil burning unit of the heating apparatus described in Specification 733,639. In a further construction, Fig. 4, a heater usable by itself comprises a base casing 26 provided with air slots 27, air also entering below the chimney 19 as before.
