Abstract
885,902. Tanks emptying ; container closures. DAIMLER-BENZ A. G. Jan. 21, 1960 [Jan. 24, 1959], No. 2199/60. Classes 21 and 125 (3) A drainage device for fuel tanks comprises a drain plug A secured into an annular part B that is secured to the bottom 12 of a fuel tank 11, the plug A having openings 19 co-operating with an annular recess 20 in the part B whereby the contents of the tank are normally drawn off by a pump through a horizontal pipe 13 near the bottom of the tank. The plug A carries a fuel filter 22 and a sealing ring 15. When the plug A is removed, any residual fuel in the tank escapes via drainage grooves 23 formed in the lower end face of the part B.
