Description
DESCRIPTION
Title of Invention
Fuel saving apparatus of a liquid fuel tank in a motor vehicle
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a fuel saving apparatus of a liquid fuel tank in a motor vehicle, and more particularly to a fuel saving apparatus of a liquid fuel tank in a motor vehicle, which reduces fuel consumption and enables a completion combustion in a combustion chamber by a stable fuel injection by controlling oil flow pressure and oil load pressure in a liquid fuel tank of a motor vehicle, so that engine noise of a motor vehicle and its exhaust gas can be minimized.
Background Art
In general, a motor vehicle includes a liquid fuel tank which feeds a liquid fuel, such as a volatile oil, a heavy oil and a gas oil, necessary for combustion at a combustion chamber of an engine. Also, in the liquid fuel tank, as illustrated in Fig. 7, a lower end portion 31' of a fuel suction pipe 31 is fixed on the bottom of the liquid fuel tank 30. A filter 32 is fixed to the lower end portion 31' so that the liquid fuel which is injected into the liquid fuel tank 30 is sucked through a pump 34 which is mounted to be connected to the fuel suction pipe 31, and then, together with combustion air, sucked into the combustion chamber of the engine by means of the fuel suction pipe 31 through the filter
32 which is disposed in the bottom of an oil chamber 33.
At this time, the liquid fuel to be sucked is injected from a float chamber carburetter, a venturi tube, and nozzle, (which are not shown in the drawing). In the case that the liquid fuel is sucked into the combustion chamber through an air intake valve, air fuel ratio between the liquid fuel and an air inflowed through an air cleaner reaches maximum based on 12.5 : 1. The fuel consumption reaches minimum based on the air fuel ratio of 18 : 1 - 16 : 1.
In the motor vehicle in which the liquid fuel tank 30 is mounted, as a body of the motor vehicle travels on the road, the liquid fuel injected into the liquid fuel tank 30 moves at the same time. As a result, the oil flow pressure is applied to the motor vehicle. Also, the oil load pressure is applied to the motor vehicle continuously whenever the motor vehicle travels, even though the oil load pressure depends on an amount of the liquid fuel in the liquid fuel tank 30. As a result, the fuel amount sucked into the engine depends on the variation of the pressure action.
Furthermore, the fuel amount sucked into the combustion chamber depends on the variation of the pressure of the liquid fuel. This causes a problem that the air fuel ratio between the fuel amount and the air is not maintained at an uniform range.
As described above, in the conventional liquid fuel tank 30, since the fuel is unstably sucked into the engine, there are problems that the completion combustion is not performed in the combustion chamber and the fuel consumption becomes increased. There are also problems that the noise of the engine and the exhaust gas are heavily generated and travelling performance of
the motor vehicle is deteriorated.
In addition to the problems, there are problems that when the liquid fuel injected into the liquid fuel tank 30 exists in a gauge of the filter 32 in the liquid fuel tank 30, the liquid fuel tank 30 is slanted depending on slant of the body of the motor vehicle, thereby reducing travelling speed and driving force of the motor vehicle when the liquid fuel sucked into the engine is small and also turning off a starting system of the engine to cause danger in driving the motor vehicle.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention has been made in an effort to solve the above described problems.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a fuel saving apparatus of a liquid fuel tank in a motor vehicle which reduces fuel consumption and enables completion combustion in a combustion chamber by a stable fuel injection. In other words, a fuel feeding chamber having a predetermined size is separately mounted on the bottom of a conventional liquid fuel tank of a motor vehicle. A fuel tank baffle plate with a curved surface is mounted at the mediate portion of the fuel feeding chamber to compartment an upper chamber and a lower chamber. Alternatively, an oil chamber is compartmented by a plurality of fuel tank baffle plates. The upper chamber and the lower chamber of the fuel feeding chamber are mounted to flow the liquid fuel through a fuel outflow hole formed on the bottom of the liquid fuel tank and a fuel hole formed formed on the fuel tank baffle plate. A filter at a lower end portion of a fuel suction pipe is
mounted at the lower chamber of the fuel feeding chamber. In accordance with the above described structure, in the fuel feeding chamber compartmented by the upper chamber and the lower chamber based on the fuel tank baffle plate or a plurality of the fuel tank baffle plates, oil flow pressure and oil load pressure can be minimized. As a result, since the liquid fuel is sucked into the combustion chamber of the engine through the filter at the lower end portion of the fuel suction pipe under the circumstances that the pressures are controlled, it is possible to feed the fuel amount suitable for the air amount. Also, since the air fuel ratio reaches maximum around 12.5 : 1, the completion combustion can be made. Further, since the fuel consumption according to the combustion is small, it is possible to save the fuel.
The completion combustion in the combustion chamber improves the travelling performance of the motor vehicle, provides a stable engine, and reduces noise and the exhaust gas.
It is another object of the present invention is to provide a fuel saving apparatus of a liquid fuel tank in a motor vehicle, having air fuel ratio in which an air amount and a fuel amount are counterbalanced each other by uniformly injecting a liquid fuel into a combustion chamber through a fuel suction pipe by controlling oil flow pressure and oil load pressure in a liquid fuel tank.
It is other object of the present invention is to provide a fuel saving apparatus of a liquid fuel tank in a motor vehicle in which a fuel amount irregularly sucked into a combustion chamber of the engine in the prior art is uniformly injected into the combustion chamber of the engine under the circumstances that the pressure is not almost applied, so that the fuel can be
saved by reducing the fuel consumption.
It is another still object of the present invention is to provide a fuel saving apparatus of a liquid fuel tank in a motor vehicle, which is simply mounted on the bottom of a conventional liquid fuel tank at a cheap cost and is easily disassembled to remove residua and impurities of the liquid fuel.

Referring to Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, in order to feed a liquid fuel into a combustion chamber of an engine 3 in a motor vehicle, a vessel and the like, a fuel suction pipe 2 is connected between a liquid fuel tank 1 and a pump 18, so that the fuel is feed into a fuel filter 19 through the pump 18. In the liquid fuel tank 1 in which an overflow pipe 4 is mounted between the fuel filter 19 and the liquid fuel tank 1, a fixed frame 7 is fixably mounted on an external surface of the bottom in the liquid fuel tank 1 to mount a separate fuel feeding chamber
6. A packing 5 is fixed on a spiral portion 8 of the fixed frame 7. A small bowl shaped oil container 9 is mounted on the packing 5 to be fitted thereinto. A curved baffle plate 10 is mounted in the small bowl shaped oil container 9 to divide the fuel feeding chamber 6 into an upper chamber 11 and a lower chamber 12. A fuel outflow hole 13 connected to the upper chamber 11 from the bottom of the liquid fuel tank 1 and a fuel hole 14 connected to the lower chamber 12 from the upper chamber 11 are respectively formed at the position
where the bottom of the liquid fuel tank 1 and the baffle plate 10 are counterbalanced each other, so that the fuel of the liquid fuel tank 1 can be injected into the upper chamber 11 and the lower chamber 12 through the fuel outflow hole 13 and the fuel hole 14.
It is desirable that the diameters of the fuel outflow hole 13 and the fuel hole 14 are the same size as the inside diameter of the fuel suction pipe 2.
Furthermore, a lower end portion 2' of the fuel suction pipe 2 is mounted at the lower chamber 12. A filter 15 is fixed on the end of the lower end portion 2' of the fuel suction pipe 2.
In case of disassembling the small bowl shaped oil container 9, the small bowl shaped oil container 9 is easily separated from the baffle plate 10 therein. Therefore, the above described fuel saving apparatus has a structure that facilitates to assembly it and that residua of the liquid fuel can be easily removed.
Meanwhile, the fuel saving apparatus according to the present invention may be formed as illustrated in Fig. 4.
Fig. 4 is an enlarged sectional view illustrating a fuel feeding chamber which is mounted in a liquid fuel tank according to another embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to Fig. 4, in order to mount a separate fuel feeding chamber 6, a long screw rod 16 is fixed on the bottom of the liquid fuel tank 1. The baffle plate 10 and the small bowl shaped oil container 9 are respectively fitted into the long screw rod 16 by means of an upper nut 17 and a lower nut 17'. A packing
5' is fixed on the small bowl shaped oil container 9 to seal the fuel feeding
chamber. In addition, the fuel outflow hole 13, the fuel hole 14, and the lower end portion 2' of the fuel suction pipe 2 are formed as illustrated in Fig. 3.
Fig. 5 is a sectional view illustrating a fuel feeding chamber which is mounted in an oil container according to other embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 6 is a plane sectional view taken along A - A line of Fig. 5.
Referring to Fig. 5 and Fig. 6, the oil container 9 is mounted on the bottom of the liquid fuel tank 1 by means of a clamp screw 21 and a nut 17a. A plurality of baffle plates 10, 10', and 10" and a plurality of spacing sections 20 are mounted in the fuel feeding chamber 6 of the oil container 9 to compartment the fuel feeding chamber 6.
A plurality of the baffle plates 10, 10', and 10" and the spacing sections 20 between the respective baffle plates are fitted into the clamp screw 21 and fixed by upper and lower nuts 17a' and 17a".
Fuel holes 14 are respectively formed on a plurality of the baffle plates 10, 10', and 10" to oppose each other.
The lower end portion 2' of the fuel suction pipe 2 is disposed in the lower chamber in the same manner as Fig. 3 and Fig. 4.
Furthermore, in the present invention, a plurality of the baffle plates 10, 10', and 10" can be mounted depending on kinds of the motor vehicle so as to compartment an oil chamber. The number of the baffle plates is not limited.
Industrial Applicability
As described above, the present invention has the following advantages. That is, the aforementioned fuel saving apparatus according to the present
invention includes the fuel feeding chamber as the small bowl shaped oil container 9 on the bottom of the liquid fuel tank 1 into which the liquid fuel is injected. The fuel feeding chamber 6 is compartmented by the baffle plate 10 in the oil container 9 to divide the upper chamber 11 and the lower chamber 12.
Moreover, as illustrated in Fig. 5, since the oil chamber is compartmented by a plurality of the baffle plates 10, 10', and 10" and a plurality of the spacing sections 20, the oil flow pressure and the oil load pressure in the liquid fuel tank 1 are not applied to the upper chamber 11 and the lower chamber 12 when the liquid fuel is injected into the fuel feeding chamber 6 through the fuel outflow hole 13 and the fuel hole 14. As a result, the fuel is uniformly sucked into the fuel feeding chamber 6 by the pump through the filter 15 of the lower end portion 2' of the fuel suction pipe 2 which is fixably mounted in the lower chamber 12. In this case, the completion combustion can be achieved in the combustion chamber of the engine in accordance with the fuel injection suitable for the combustion air amount. In addition, since the overflow of the fuel injection is controlled, the fuel consumption is reduced, thereby saving the fuel.
In the fuel saving apparatus of the present invention, since the fuel injection is performed by the pump through the fuel suction pipe 2 and the lower end portion 2', accelerated pressure is not applied during the fuel injection. Since unstable fuel injection due to movement of the motor vehicle is controlled during travelling of the motor vehicle, stable and uniform fuel injection can be performed regardless of the pressure and flow force. In particular, since the completion combustion in the combustion chamber of the engine reduces the exhaust gas and the engine noise, it is possible to stably drive the motor
vehicle.
Moreover, in the fuel saving apparatus of the present invention, assembly and disassembly of the small bowl shaped oil container 9 can be easily performed and residua of the liquid fuel in the oil container 9 can be removed, thereby providing convenience and easily performing the completion combustion.
It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made in the fuel saving apparatus of a liquid fuel tank in a motor vehicle of the present invention without departing from the scope of or spirit of the invention. Thus, it is intended that the present invention cover the modifications and variations of this invention provided they come within the scope of the appended claims and their equivalents.
