884,897. Controlling vehicles. LIMOGES, H., and LIMOGES, M. P. March 23, 1960 [Nov. 23, 1959], No. 10219/60. Class 79(5). [Also in Group XXXIV] A vehicle braking system comprises a brake actuating mechanism 33 energised by a compressed fluid circuit 1, and a second separate brake acutating mechanism 16, 24- 29 energised automatically by electrical means 8, 9 controlled by a detector 2-5 when pressure in circuit 1 fails. A switch 34 is opened to release the brake. Movement of piston 3 of the detector may operate warning devices and switch off the engine. The links 24-27 are adjustable to take up wear and all or only the driving wheel brakes may be applied in an emergency.
