Abstract

883,985. Production of strawboard. STRAMIT BOARDS Ltd. April 13, 1960 [Jan. 14, 1959], No. 1341/59. Class 96. In the production of compressed straw slabs &c., the straw from a hopper 18 is pressed into a continuous strip between platens 19, 20 by a reciprocating plunger 2 in the form of plate linked at each side by a connecting- rod 10 moved by a pin 8 near the rim of a flywheel 11, and guided by a horizontal track 1 at each side of the machine, each track presenting an upper, a lower and an inwardly-directed, flat rail 3, 5, 4 on which run wheels 12, 13, 16, e.g. in the form of double-row, self-aligning ball races with thickened rims.
