Abstract

A graft copolymer consisting of polyethylene and a carboxylic acid containing a CH2 = C < group is made by ozonizing powdered polyethylene and then polymerizing the acid, e.g. acrylic acid, in the presence of the ozonized polymer. The p exemplified polymerization is effected in the presence of water.
