Class 75(3) In an electric light fitting of the kind comprising a cup-shaped lamp housing of transparent or translucent material supported by a bracket carrying a lamp holder, the bracket 14 extending laterally from the housing and being adapted for securing to a vertical support, e.g. a wall 32, the bracket is hollow and includes a top portion 15 containing the lamp holder 47 and having a downwardly directed opening to receive the cupshaped housing 10 and a laterally projecting arm 24 provided internally with a fastening element or a formation to receive a fastening element, the element being operable through the opening for securing the arm to a supporting surface. The arm may include or be associated with a subordinate housing 29 for connection to a conduit for the supply wiring, the housing being slidably received in the outer end of the arm 24 or abutting the end face thereof. The fastening element may comprise a threaded rod 42 screwed into a boss 41 on the housing 29 and extending through an aperture in a lug 45 on the housing 14 and a socket screw 46. The housing 29 may have apertures in the top sides or bottom for the passage of electric cables, the arm 24 having weakened places adjacent the holes. The end of the bracket 14 adjacent the housing 29 has an internal wall 30 to support a gasket 31, e.g. of rubber, to seal the junctions. In amodification, the housing 29 may be mounted flush with the wall 32, the rod 42 being then of length sufficient to co-operate with the socket screw 46 for securing the bracket 14 in place and a gasket, e.g. of rubber, being interposed between the outer end of the arm 24 and the wall. The lamp housing 10 may be threaded at the top to screw into a corresponding thread in the part of the bracket surrounding the opening, a gasket 21 being interposed.
