827,076. Supporting light fittings. BENJAMIN ELECTRIC Ltd., and STUDHOLME, J. May 21, 1957 [Feb. 21, 1956], No. 5339/56. Classes 75(3) and 75(4) A lighting installation comprises a main building structure 10 and a light ceiling structure 11 supported below and spaced from the main structure, and a lighting fitting including a reflector 13 accommodated principally between the two structures and supported by the main structure. The supporting means may comprise saddle shaped members 16 supported by bolts 14 from the main structure and carrying a channel member 12 housing gear for fluorescent lamps, a trough shaped reflector 13 being suspended from the member 12. The legs of the member 16 carry strips 23, 26 to one of which 23, a frame 20 carrying a cover glass 22 is hinged, being secured by a knurled screw 25 to the strip 26. The channel member 12 may have recessed portions 33 in its sides to engage tongues (not shown) on the legs of the saddle members 16 for supporting the fitting temporarily during installation. Conduit attached to the main structure may be used to support the saddle members in place of the bolts 14.
