882,392. Rectifiers. WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO. Ltd. June 3, 1960 [June 30, 1959], No. 22365/59. Class 37. A rectifier assembly comprises two shells 3 and 9 defining an open-ended passageway having one or more intermediate connectors 2 with an enlarged central portion and which is secured by means of slots in shells 3 and 9 and end connectors 13 having no enlarged central portion so that they can be inserted after the two shells are brought together to provide the casing. End electrodes 13 are also secured by means of slots in the shell portions, and have a wide portion 12 which limits the movement of the connector through the first slot. Between each pair of connectors is inserted a stack comprising rectifier element(s), spacers and a spring to hold the stack in place. The arrangement provides firm extensions for external connections particularly for use in printed circuits. A similar assembly comprising two such passageways is also described.
