Abstract

979,826. Spring clip fastenings. UNITEDCARR Inc. March 8, 1963 [June 21, 1962], No. 9349/63. Heading E2B. [Also in Division H2] In a multi-pin plug comprising two similar insulating casing members 12, 14, held together by screws 46 and containing an insulating contact-carrying insert 18, the casing members 12, 14 have at one end interfitting bosses with recesses 28a, 28e respectively, which together define a lead-receiving opening 28 into which incoming leads are clamped by two resilient strips 85 located one in each recess. Each strip 85 has a curved centre portion and one mounting leg, which is slotted and slightly splayed in order to engage in one of apertures such as 54, 56 provided in the end boss of casing member 14. The insert 18 is secured at the front of casing member 14 by grooved front sections 82, 84, 86 of casing side walls 32, 34, and each casing member has external grooved ridges 16 to provide a hand-grip.
