882,345. Drawing. HOLZER, C., and BUSHE, M. VON., [trading as KIESERLING & ALBRECHT, TH.]. March 11, 1960 [May 30, 1959], No. 8755/60. Class 83 (4). In a die and mandrel multiple draw bench the tubes 13 to be drawn are fed on to the mandrels 15 by two sets of grooved pinch rollers 5, 5a and 6, 6a, and the mandrels are held coaxially with the tubes by spring-loaded clamp rollers 9a, 9b and 9c. The upper drive rollers 5 and 6 are mounted on a piston 3 which is guided in a cylinder 2 secured to the base of the machine and each roller has a coating of flexible material. The clamping roller 9a is mounted on an angle lever which is acted on by a spring-loaded piston 13 and the levers 11 and 12 are acted on by a common spring 16 which forces them against a piston 17, the position of which can be adjusted by a hand wheel 22 and screw 20. In operation tubes to be drawn are brought to the position shown in Fig. 3 by a conveyer of known type, the upper rollers 5 and 6 are lowered and the drive motors 28 started to feed the tubes on to the second set of drive rollers. The clamping rollers 9a and 96 are moved away by the tube and a switch 29 switches off the drive motors when the end of the tube has passed.
