882,228. Buoys. WILSON, W. R. March 4, 1958 [March 5, 1957], No. 7318/57. Class 77. A life-line f is thrown with the aid of a float a, Fig. 2, to which a length of rope b is attached. The float, which may incorporate an electric light, may be painted white, black or orange, may be of cork or balsa wood, may hollow cr solid and may be ovoidal. To prevent the float sliding along the rope the latter may be additionally knotted near the float at the life-line attachment end. In an ovoidal float the hole c may be along the minor or major axis. The rope may be of cotton.
