A means for balancing a 3-coil star- or deltaconnected induction heating furnace on a 3- phase supply system comprises connecting in series with one or more coils or supply leads an impedance equal to y - #y for a furnace coil electrical displacement of 120 degrees or y + #y for a 60-degree displacement where y is the mutual inducance between either of the two " outer " coils and the " middle " coil, and #y the mutual inductance between the two " outer " coils.
