881,595. Controlling motor vehicles. LINDE'S EISMASCHINEN AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT ZWEIGNIEDERLASSUNG GULDNER-MOTOREN-WERKE GES FUR. Sept. 25, 1959 [Sept. 26, 1958], No. 32756/59. Class 79(5). A tractor has a fixed engine cover 5, a steering wheel 4 mounted on a column 3 extending through the cover, an engine speed control device 6, 7, 8, and manually operated means capable of actuating the speed control device and including a tubular member 9 surrounding the column 3, an operating handle 10 fixed to the tubular member and link means 11, 13, 14 to connect the tubular member with the speed control device. In the preferred embodiment, a lip 16 on the lever 14 engages the lever 7 when the handle 10 is rotated, the sleeve 9 having its movement limited by a stop 18 and being retained in the adjusted position by a resilient member 19 serving also as a seal, by spring- loaded means or by friction or knurled discs located between the steering box 2 and the link means 11. The latter is in the form of a plate having a ball-ended bolt 12 connected by an adjustable link 13 to the lever 14.
