Abstract

881,393. Watches. GIGANDET, C. Sept. 16, 1959 [Sept. 23, 1958], No. 31546/59. Class 139. In a self-winding watch the rotor 3, Fig. 1, which is of annular form and surrounds the movement 1, is pivoted at 5 to the lug 4 projecting from the movement frame. Two pawls 8, 9 are pivoted to the rotor at 10, 11 and, as the rotor swings about its pivot in either direction, one or other of the pawls 10, 11 drives a ratchet 7 connected by a gear 6 to the barrel 2. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown). the barrel ratchet is driven directly by the pawls the pivots of which are located radially inwardly of the rotor pivot which comprises a pin carried by the rotor and having its conical ends in ball bearings located respectively in a lug projecting from the movement frame and in a bridge mounted thereon.
