In an intercarrier television receiver the amplitude modulated I.F. picture signal appearing at the output of amplifier 4 on channel II is supplied to a rectifier 14 or a converter 15 to control a tuning indicator, e.g. of the "magic eye" type or part of the television screen, or to operate an automatic tuning device. The picture channel I comprises demodulator 5 and amplifier 6. The picture carrier derived from limiter 8 is mixed with the frequency modulated sound signals at 9, the sound channel further comprising limiter 11 and discriminator 12.
