Abstract

880,682. Helmets. PAG PRESSWERK A.G. Aug. 4, 1960 [Aug. 5, 1959], No. 27082/60. Class 63 A helmet comprises a shell 1 of plastic material having around its periphery spaced downwardly extending attachment pieces 2 provided with buttonholes 3, the pieces 2 passing through slots 4 in the ends of the straps 5 of the helmet cradle, buttons 6 which are attached to the ends of the straps being inserted in the buttonholes 3 and the headband 10 provided with upwardly bent flaps 11 having buttonholes 12 into which the buttons 6 are also inserted. The flaps 11 pass through slots 14 in a plastic foam strip 13 fitted between the headband 10 and the shell 1 and the headband 10 has upwardly extending strips 9 provided with buttons 8 which engage buttonholes 7 in the straps 5. To adjust for various head sizes the headband 10 is formed with straps 15, 16 the strap 15 having inturned edge portions 28 and pins 26, and the strap 16 is formed with holes and is parked into the sleeve like strap 15, the pins 26 engaging in the holes in the strap 16. Ventilation holes 20, Fig. 1, in the shell I are covered by a rotatable disc formed with portions 23, 24, 25 which according to the position of the disc close none, one, two or all of the holes 20.
