Abstract
880,663. Transparency mountings. LEITZ G.m.b.H., E. Dec. 10, 1959 [Jan. 17, 1959], No. 42016/59. Class 98(2). A transparency mounting comprises a frame arranged for holding a transparency in an open window thereof, and a detachable transparent cover plate which fits into and fills the said window. Fig. 1b shows a frame formed by two cardboard sheets, enclosing the transparency 3 between them. The plate 5 is made of a transparent plastic material having lugs 6, 7 which are inserted between the transparency and the frame, so as to hold the plate in position. The lugs may extend the whole length of the plate, as in Fig. 6. The plate may be flat, concave, or convex, on one or both faces. Fig. 3 shows in cross-section a planoconvex plate, which is finely scored on the curved side which is to bear against the transparency, so as to prevent the formation of interference rings.
