Abstract

879,362. Radio transmitting apparatus. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. Aug. 5, 1959 [Aug. 20, 1958], No. 26761/59. Class 40(5) [Also in Group XL(a)] In a cooling arrangement for a power valve, e.g. in a radio transmitter, the valve 2 is arranged in a cooling pot 1 to which a coolant is continuously supplied, the cooling pot being rotatable about an axis displaced from itself so that it may be swivelled from an operative position into a position in which the valve is readily accessible. As shown the cooling pot is rigidly connected to a ceramic support 3 by means of a hollow arm 17, the support 3 being rotatably mounted in one or more bearings 5, and connected, through rotatable seals, to fixed input and output supply lines 11, 18. Coolant is supplied to the cooling pot through a conduit 16 rigidly connected to the support 3 by means of a connecting head 13. Alternatively, however, coolant may be supplied through the support 3 to the level of the connection 8 and through a conduit perpendicular to the support 3 to the cooling pot. A quick release device 9 holds the cooling pot in the operative position and serves also as the electrical connection to the tuned circuit. The column of water contained in the tube 16 or the support 3 can further represent a water resistor for the direct anode voltage and partly for the high frequency voltage.
