Abstract
879,218. Thermonuclear apparatus. BECKER E. W. April 26, 1960 [May 5, 1959], No. 14641/60. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(4). Nuclear fuel which is gaseous at normal temperature and pressure is passed into the reaction space of a thermonuclear reactor as a directed stream of condensed material, i.e. a stream of liquid droplets or solid particles. The fuel is preferably an isotope of hydrogen or helium which passes into the reactor in liquid form through a nozzle cooled below -250C. Preferably -one or more screens cooled below -150C. are arranged in front of the nozzle to strip off the outer zone of the jet.
