Abstract

877,764. Waterskier launching, towing and retrieving apparatus. CORRELL, W. R. Jan. 28, 1958, No. 2869/58. Classes 114 and 115. A waterskier launching and retrieving apparatus comprises a support member 18 including means for mounting same on the stern 12 of a boat, a ski launching platform 20 having one end pivotally mounted on said support member, power means 22 between the support member and the launching platform for pivoting the other end of the latter toward and away from the surface S of a body of water for retrieving and launching water skis 72, a winch assembly 24 on support member 18 including a tow line 26 having a handle 28 and an adjustable residual-drag assembly 32, and a tow line support means 30 arranged in spaced overlying relationship with respect to the launching platform 20, being connected thereto by a link 124, and pivotally connected as at 106 to the support member 18. The power means 22 comprises a rod 88 connected to a piston in a cylinder 86 in communication via a flexible pressure line 92 with a pump assembly 94 having a valve 96 for relieving pressure developed thereby.
