Abstract

877,485. Protective clothing. WEBB, J. T., and FRANKLIN & SONS Ltd., J. G. Jan. 1, 1958 [Jan. 2, 1957], No. 137/57. Class 141 An apron or overall for protection against X-rays has depending knee flaps 1 of lead-rubber &c. The flaps 1 may be detachably connected to the garment by press-studs 3, or integral with the front of the garment. The garment may comprise an apron supported by shoulder straps 6 with snap-hooks 7 for engagement with eyelets 8 above the hips or it may comprise front and back sections; the knee flaps may be applied to any of the garments described in Specification 877,484. The sheet material forming the garment comprises lead compounds in sheet form or lead-glass fabric, and is preferably a laminate consisting of a central lead-containing layer faced with rubber, fabric, synthetic plastics, rubberised fabrics &c.
