Abstract

876,794. Knitting-machines. BENTLEY ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Sept. 26, 1957 [Sept. 26, 1956], No. 29407/56. Addition to 742,871. Class 74 (2). The bottom cam box 4, 10 for the sliders and jacks of a superposed cylinder machine is directly or indirectly supported from the bottom plate 5 supporting the bottom cylinder. The cam box is suitably spaced from the bottom plate and its support is such as to permit patterning mechanism 9 to act on the jacks. The support may be a flange 13 formed on the cylinder which engages on a groove formed in the cam box to support the cam box. Adjustable arms 20, 21, 22 secured to the cam box and vertical pillars 23, 24, 25 anchor and centralize the cam box with respect to the needle cylinder. Alternatively the cam box may be supported by arms extending upwardly from and secured to the base plate 5.
