Abstract

876,784. Magnetic recording &c. apparatus; monitoring. BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS RESEARCH Ltd. April 2, 1959 [April 24, 1958], No. 13069/58. Class 40 (2). In a magnetic recording apparatus two control circuits T1, T2 feed a record head by means of separate energizing coils WH1, WH2 thereon connected in aiding relation and each connected in series with coils TR1, TR2, on a transformer, in opposing relation to each other, whereby in the event of failure or malfunction of one of the control circuits a flux is generated in the transformer to energize a third winding TR3 to operate a fault detection circuit FD and inhibit the recording operation or operate an alarm.
