Abstract

PURPOSE:To check a fault part while carrying on recording operation continuously during editing operation by storing a current time code and the contents of a fault when the fault occurs during the recording operation, and displaying the code at desired time. CONSTITUTION:A detection signal from a dropout detecting circuit 31 and signals showing the asynchronism of a servo from servo circuits 22 and 26 are supplied to interface circuits 32, 24, and 28 respectively. Those interface circuits 24, 28, and 32 are driven at intervals of one field period and their contents are supplied to a CPU11 through a data bus 14. The CPU11 detects the contents of the interface circuits 24, 28 and 32. If a fault is detected, a time code from a generating circuit 35 is read and this time code and a detection code which corresponds to one of interface circuits 24, 28 and 32 having the fault are stored in a random access memory 13.
