Abstract
777,852. Circuits employing bi-stable magnetic elements. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Sept. 14, 1955 [Sept. 17, 1954], No. 26288/55. Class 40 (4). Coincident pulses are detected by means of a circuit including bi-stable magnetic cores A and B which have pulse input windings 6 and 9 and output windings 7 and 10 respectively, the winding 6 having twice as many turns as winding 9 so that a pulse applied to the terminals 1 or 2 takes core A to a second stable state but not core B, while two pulses in coincidence on terminals 1 and 2 take both cores A and B into their second stable states. Read out windings 5 and 8, which take the cores A and B, or A, back to an initial stable state, produce an output pulse across the output windings when only single pulses have been received, but produce no resultant pulse when coincident pulses have been received. The read-out windings are pulsed when a pulse is applied to terminal 12 of the grid of a thyratron 11. The output windings 7 and 10 are connected in series opposition between grid and cathode of a thyratron 15 which is held ready for conduction during a read-out pulse by a grid 17 connected to the cathode of thyratron 11. Specification 760,175 is referred to.
