[Also in Groups X and XXIX] A method of constructing filter tanks, silos and like substantially circular structures comprises the steps of preparing an annular foundation, laying thereon the requisite number of pre-cast wall-supporting units 10 to form a ring of such units each slotted at 11 for the reception of a prefabricated wall section 12, laying reinforcing members 17 on each side of the units 10 and casting concrete 16 therearound to anchor the units 10 in position. A wall section 12 is then inserted in the slot 11 of each unit 10 to form a ring of such sections 12 and the wall sections are connected together at the top edges by U-shaped anchoring members 19. The wall sections may be slightly spaced apart from one another, as shown at 27, Fig. 6, to provide for ventilation and drainage. Further drainage apertures 28 are formed in the wall sections 12. Halfround tiles 30, 31 are provided respectively to screen the gaps 27 and form ventilation passages above the apertures 28. Half-round drainage tiles 29 are laid radially on the floor 20 to communicate with the gaps 27 and apertures 28. For constructional details of the wall see Group XXIX.
