Abstract

875,636. Mixing liquids. WILLIAMSON, A. B., and HILL, S. D. March 25, 1959 [Jan. 30, 1958], No. 3046/58. Class 86 [Also in Group XXIII] A device for incorporation in a flexible pipe or hose to enable the water therein to be dosed with detergent comprises a tubular body 1, 15 having a cap and connecter 3, 4 at the input end for connection to the hose. The flow of water passes through the device by way of the nipple 9, the tube 11 and the nozzle 20 Detergent is contained in the annular chamber 14 between the tube 11 and the body 1, 15, and is subjected to the input pressure of the water through the narrow annular passage 10. When the thumbpiece 25 is depressed the needle valve 23 is opened and detergent is expelled through the passage 24 into the water stream. The container is filled with detergent by unscrewing the connector 4 and removing the nipple 9 and washer 8, or by a filling opening (not shown) in the side of the body. The device may be incorporated into a wash-down brush as the handle thereof, (see Figs 1 and 2, not shown, and Group XXIII).
