Abstract
875,618. Broom handle fixings. EASTON, H. A. June 9, 1960 [April 4, 1959], No. 11512/59. Class 61. A detachable spring tensioned attachment for a sweeping brush, which produces a flicking action as soon as pressure is removed from the brush handle, comprises a base plate 1 adapted to be mounted on the back of the brush head and a handle receiving socket 7 pivotally mounted on the base plate and tensioned by two coil springs 3 having arms at right angles. Parts of the base plate are bent at right angles and are drilled to receive the ends of an axle 2 which is inserted through the coil springs 3, lateral movement of the axle being prevented by split pins 9. The horizontal arms of the springs are held firmly by folded parts 5 of the base plate, the vertical arms being held by the handle socket 7, the ends of the vertical arms being folded over the top of the socket. The socket 7 is adjustable in size by means of the screw 10.
