875,386. Lathe details. FABRYKA AUTOMATOW TOKARSKICH, PRZEDSIEBIORSTWO PANSTOWE. March 3, 1958 [March 25, 1957], No. 6817/58. Class 83 (3). In automatic lathes with axial work feed a tool support is provided with a number of gauging stops which are brought in turn into co-operation with an automatically movable stop on the machine so that the tool may be set to turn a number of different diameters. The work is fed axially against a tool 1 to effect longitudinal turning. The tool is mounted on a lever-rest 3 moved by a cam 7 and follower 5 against the tension of a spring 6. During the longitudinal turning the cam 7 is inoperative and the tool is held at the predetermined diameter by one of a number of gauging stops. An adjusting screw 2 on the end of the lever rest co-operates with a fixed part of the frame 4 for the first of these. In further diameters a swivel stop face 10 co-operates with adjusting screws 11, 11<SP>1</SP>. The stop 10 is moved automatically to the required position by a cam 7<SP>1</SP> on the main cam-shaft.
