875,357. Ratchet clutches. FORMSPRAG CO. Sept. 10, 1958 [Nov. 25, 1957], No. 29041/58. Class 80 (2). Energizing means for sprags C, C<SP>1</SP>, C2 between inner and outer races A, B of a one-way clutch comprises springs F, G, each encircling trunnions D of two adjacent sprags, and the ends thereof engage recesses D<SP>1</SP>, D2 in the trunnions. The sprags are free to pivot about their trunnions in a cage E and springs may be provided at one or both ends of the sprags. The springs are prevented from axial movement by engaging notches H<SP>1</SP> in the trunnions adjacent to the recesses.
