Abstract
875,094. Transformers. TELEFUNKEN G.m.b.H. April 29, 1960 [May 2, 1959; Aug. 29, 1959], No. 15112/60. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group XL (c)] A transformer comprises two toroidal ferrite cores AF separated by an air gap AL, earthed end-plates AS 2 , AS 3 , separate secondary windings AW 2 , AW 3 which are shielded from primary winding AW 1 by an earthed foil screen AS 1 , a thick, preferably perforated, insulating layer being included between windings AW 2 , AW 3 and screen AS 1 . The transformer is described as part of a radio receiver in a stereophonic transmission system and is designed to eliminate capacitive coupling between winding AW 1 and windings AW 2 , AW 3 , switching from one sound channel to the other being effected by means of an alternating voltage, having a frequency of 40 kc/s. for example, applied to winding AW 1 .
