Abstract

874,935. Valve modulating and amplifying circuits. TESLA NARODNI PODNIK. April 28, 1960 [May 5, 1959], No. 14921/60. Classes 40(5) and 40(6) A video modulator comprises two cathode follower valves 1, 2 in series connection, each respectively applying to the grid of a carrier amplifier valve (not shown) the A.C. and D.C. components of a modulating signal, the A.C. being applied through a capacitor 3. The grid of D.C. valve 2 may be energized from the input to valve 1 through a D.C. coupling path comprising a voltage stabilizer gas tube 5 shunted by a resistor 6. Alternatively the D.C. coupling may be fed from the cathode of valve 1. Alternatively still, the anode of valve 2 may be connected to the earthed end of cathode resistor 8.
