Abstract
873,717. Endless-belt conveyers; shoots. KLOCKNER-HUTTE BREMEN-A.G. March 10, 1959 [March 13, 1958], No. 8270/59. Class 78 (1). Material is guided from a conveyer 2, Fig. 1, to a conveyer 7 by a shoot 3, the back of which comprises a member 4 of rectangular crosssection and the bottom of which is movable horizontally by rack-and-pinion mechanism 6. The material collects in the angle between the bottom plate and vertical wall of the member 4 and forms a sloping mound over which further material slides on to the conveyer 7. In a modification the bottom 5 is movable in an inclined plane. In a further modification, Fig. 3, in which the conveyer 7 is reversible, the bottom plate 5 is divided by a vertical wall 9 to cause the formation of two mounds and is moved to a position appropriate to the direction of movement of the conveyer. In another modification, Fig. 4, the bottom 5, or the shoot 3 as a whole, is moved to ensure delivery of the material on to the central region of the belt.
