Abstract

A combined cleaning and polishing composition comprises by weight: 15-25 parts of finely-divided abrasive, 8-16 parts of a wax, 2-12 parts of a dialkylpolysiloxane, 40-70 parts of a hydrocarbon solvent, 8-20 parts of a propellant that volatilizes at ambient temperatures and pressures, and 1-3 parts of an ethylene glycol monoalkylether having 1-7C. atoms in the alkyl group. Ingredients specified are: abrasives-diatomaceous earth and hydrated alumina; waxes-paraffin, microcrystalline, oxidized microcrystalline, polyethylene, oxidized polyethylene, carnauba, bees, hydrogenated castor oil, ouricury and petrolatum; siloxanes-dimethyl-polysiloxane; solvents-mineral spirits; glycol ethers-ethyleneglycolmonobutylether; propellants-dichlorodifluoromethane and dichlorotetrafluoroethane. Examples are given.
