Abstract

872,834. Rotary pumps. VANTON PUMP & EQUIPMENT CORPORATION. May 5, 1959 [June 5, 1958], No. 15407/59. Class 110 (2). In a rotary pump of the gyratory piston type, the piston is provided with a flexible liner having a barrel portion 36, a barrier 38, end flanges 40 and gaskets 42, 44 formed as an integral construction. The inlet 16 of the pump may communicate with a recess 75 for priming purposes, see also Fig. 2 (not shown). In a modification, the two halves of the pump casing are held together by quick-release clamps, see Figs. 7-12 (not shown). The body portion of the pump may be made of polyethylene, polyvinylchlorate, phenolic resins, natural or synthetic hard rubbers or stainless steel whilst the liner may be made of natural or synthetic flexible rubber, synthetic plastic material or silicon materials.
