Abstract

872,791. Two-part couplings. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Jan. 21, 1959 [Feb. 17, 1958], No. 2230/59. Class 38 (1). A terminal connector for use with a printed circuit comprises a body 12 with at least two parallel chambers, e.g. 12d, 12e, extending therethrough and terminals 16, adapted to be crimped on to conductors 18, housed in the chambers, parts 16c of the terminals being bent to form semi-annular loops which protrude from the body surface to make contact with conductors on a circuit panel. Each terminal has lateral flanges engageable in slots 12v or 12w in the chamber walls and is held in its chamber by means of a tongue 16s engaging transverse shoulder 12t and parts 16y, 16b abutting against flange 10y and lugs 10x, respectively. Webs 10a extend from the body 12 and have flanges 10d terminating in lugs 10e adapted to engage complementary slots in a circuit panel in bayonet fashion. Central guide-pin 10g has a hollow interior 10h for engagement by a positioning tool and a portion 10j which has a key 10k on one side. The latter parts serve to locate the connector in the circuit panel before bayonet engagement is made by lugs 10e.
