Abstract

872,787. Aerating liquids. AGHNIDES, E. P. Jan. 21, 1958 [Feb. 18, 1957], No. 2018/58. Class 14 (1). An aerator for connection to a water faucet comprises a diaphragm member 14 located in a casing 10 and provided with a plurality of water passageways 15 with restricted entrance openings 17 which may be inclined as shown. The water forced through the openings 17 and passageways 15 are given such turbulence that the streamlets issuing into the main aerator chamber 18 have impaired coherence. Air is induced through inlets 12 and the streamlets pass through a mixing screen 19. Many different embodiments are described in the Specification including some in which a diaphragm member is used in conjunction with another member to form the restricted entrance openings and/or the passageways.
