872,081. Washing-machines. GROEBLI, R. Aug. 22, 1957 [Sept. 8, 1956; Jan. 16, 1957], No. 26547/57. Class 138 (2). A horizontally rotatable drum-type washing machine has its tub pivotally mounted for oscillation on the machine frame on an axis offset from the axis of rotation of the drum, and the tub is connected to the machine frame at a point remote from said axis of oscillation via a shock absorber including two shock-absorber elements that react in opposite directions on the frame. As shown, drum A rotates about axis X in tub 1 which is pivoted at 20 to frame 16. A lug 2 is connected by a link 3 to lever 4 pivoted at 5 to the base 6, and connected at 7 and 8 to shock-absorber springs 9 and 10.
