[Also in Group XXXIV] For operating two mechanisms, such as the brakes of two driven wheels of a vehicle, either jointly or singly as desired, two mechanismoperating levers 3, 3a and a manually-operable lever 4 arranged therebetween are each rotatable about a fixed shaft 1, and a cross-bar 11 on the lever 4 normally engages recesses 7 in the operating levers to move them jointly, but lever 4 is also turnable about an axis transverse of the shaft 1 to disengage the cross-bar from one (or the other) of the two mechanism operating levers to rotate only said other (or said one) operating lever jointly with the manually-operable lever. The lever 4 is turnable to disengage the cross-bar from one or. other of the recess against the action of a spring 12 which normally holds it in any of its three operative positions and a spring-loaded detent 15 engageable with teeth 20 in the shaft and operable by a handle 22 on the end of the lever locks the lever in any rotational position.
