Abstract

In the production of sulphate-resistant Portland cement, the composition of the clinker is adjusted, e.g. by adding materials having high iron oxide, silica, and limestone contents, so that the alumina modules (i.e. the weight ratio of Al2O3: Fe2O3) does not exceed 0,6 is preferably between 0,35 and 0,6 or advantageously between 0,5 and 0,55, and that the silicate modules (i.e. the weight ratio SiO2: (Al2O3 + Fe2O3) is at least 1,8, and so that the clinker contains at least 1 1/2 times as much tricalcium silicate, by weight, as mixed crystal phase containing iron oxide.
