Abstract

A foamed ceramic cement is composed of, by weight 1 to 16% lead oxide, 1 to 15% of a flux, 1 to 6% of silicon carbide, 1 to 6% of SO3 and the remainder and at least 70% of the total cement composition a lithium aluminosilicate ceramic such as glass or crystalline petallite and beta spodumene. The cement is mixed with butyl alcohol and toluene to form a fluid mixture before being poured into position in the burner. Specifications 829,447 and 882,484 are referred to.
