Abstract
A cement is made by mixing dicalcium silicate and arsenious oxide, or materials containing substantial proportions of these compounds. The dicalcium silicate may be the a , b , or g modification or mixtures. Other cements, e.g. Portland, may be added. In examples, cements comprise (1) 60-95 parts by weight of finely ground material containing at least 75 per cent of a and/or b dicalcium silicate and 40-5 parts of a material containing at least 75 per cent of arsenious oxide; (2) 50-90 parts of a material containing at least 75 per cent of g dicalcium silicate and 50-10 parts of a material containing at least 75 per cent of arsenious oxide; (3) 1-2 parts of the cement of example 1 and 2-1 parts of the cement of example 2. The cements are used in the same manner as ordinary, e.g. Portland, cements.
