Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0870638/IV (b)/1> <FORM:0870638/IV (b)/2> <FORM:0870638/IV (b)/3> in which the double bond(s) containing a broken line may be fully hydrogenated and in which n is a whole number of 1 to 5 and the preparation thereof by reacting a 2,3-dimethoxy-benzohydroquinone-(1,4) having an alkyl group in the 5-position in the presence of an acid reagent with a compound of the formula: <FORM:0870638/IV (b)/4> in which X is a halogen atom or a hydroxy or an acyloxy group, or with a compound derived therefrom by allyl rearrangement, and, where required submitting the reaction product to oxidation or to cyclisation.
