Abstract

An organo polysiloxane elastomeric foam is made by mixing 100 parts of hydroxyl-endblocked dimethylpolysiloxane of viscosity at 25 DEG C. of 1300 cs., 10 parts of trimethylsiloxy-endblocked methylhydrogen-polysiloxane of viscosity 23 cs., 10 parts of diphenylmethyl-silanol, 10 parts of hydroxyl-endblocked dimethylpolysiloxane of viscosity 50 cs., 15 parts of hexabrombenzene as a fire retardant, 20 parts of diatomaceous earth, and 6 parts of stannous octoate. The mixture foams at room temperature. Specifications 608,956, 788,598, 798,669, 832,488, 867,619 and U.S.A. Specification 2,956,032 are referred to.ALSO:An organopolysiloxane elastomeric foam is made by mixing 100 parts of hydroxyl-end-blocked dimethyl-polysiloxane of viscosity at 25 DEG C. of 1300 c.s., 10 parts of trimethyl-siloxy-endblocked methyl hydrogen-polysiloxane of viscosity 23 c.s., 10 parts of diphenyl methyl silanol, 10 parts of hydroxyl-endblocked dimethyl polysiloxane of viscosity 50 c.s., 15 parts of hexabrombenzene as a fire retardant, 20 parts of diatomaceous earth, and 6 parts of stannous octoate.
