Abstract
An organo polysiloxane elastomeric foam is made by mixing 100 parts of hydroxyl-endblocked dimethylpolysiloxane of viscosity at 25 DEG C. of 1300 cs., 10 parts of trimethylsiloxy-endblocked methylhydrogen-polysiloxane of viscosity 23 cs., 10 parts of diphenylmethyl-silanol, 10 parts of hydroxyl-endblocked dimethylpolysiloxane of viscosity 50 cs., 15 parts of hexabrombenzene as a fire retardant, 20 parts of diatomaceous earth, and 6 parts of stannous octoate. The mixture foams at room temperature. Specifications 608,956, 788,598, 798,669, 832,488, 867,619 and U.S.A.
