Abstract

868,585. Lift trucks. TEN KATE, E. Nov. 25, 1959 [Jan. 9, 1959], No. 870/59. Class 78 (3). [Also in Group XXXI] A fork lift truck comprises a power unit 22 coupled to an hydraulic pump 23 which feeds both an hydraulic motor 29 to drive a pair of wheels 14 and an hydraulic jack 18 to operate the lifting forks. The wheels 14 are mounted on brackets 26 attached to a turntable 27 which is linked to the steering-wheel. A three-way control valve 24 provides a control by which the motor can be isolated or cause the wheels 14 to run forwards or backwards and a similar control valve 32 controls the jack 18. The two valves 24, 32 are arranged with a slidable plate 50 supported over the tops of the valves. The plate 50 is provided with slots through,which pass the levers 36, 39 of the control-valves and co-operating-pins 54, 55 so that the two levers 36, 39 cannot simultaneously be moved to positions to operate the drive and the jack.
