Abstract
868,100. Turbine blades. BROWN, BOVERI & CIE A.G. Sept. 12, 1958 [Sept. 12, 1957], No. 29286/58. Drawings to Specification. Class 110(3). The blading of an axial flow turbine is characterized by the feature that over the blade length from the inner end to the outer end the fluid outlet angle of the guide blades decreases and that of the moving blades increases. With this blading, which is twisted in the opposite direction to that of blading designed in accordance with the free vortex theory, the degree of reaction decreases as a reference section through the stage moves radially outwards. Thus at both the radially inward tips of the guide blades and the radially outward tip of the rotor blades the heat drop is small and the tip losses thereby reduced.
