Abstract

867,463. Cleaning metals. LAZARUS, M. May 26, 1959, No. 17905/59. Class 82(2) [Also in Group XVIII] Small objects carried on a perforated platform which forms the bottom of a rotatable foraminous basket immersed in a liquid are cleaned by subjecting them to ultrasonic vibrations from a source located at a predetermined distance therefrom. As shown, watch parts are located in a basket 21 supported by lid 23 on shaft 20 driven by a motor 24 which is clamped tc pillar 25 by screw 26. The whole assembly can be rotated about the pillar and the basket lowered into detergent 31 held in cup 29. Toggle switch 27 is used to turn on both the motor 24 which rotates the basket, and a high frequency supply to a transducer element in housing 10 provided with a convex lower surface 16 which is immersed in the liquid.
