Abstract
853,537. Cleaning metals. ZUCKER, J. Dec. 10, 1858 [Dec. 11, 1957], No. 39768/58. Class 82(2) In a process for cleaning metals parts by radiation with ultrasonic energy in a cleaning liquid, the liquid is first degasified and thereafter, with the parts immersed therein, is subjected to ultrasonic radiation. As shown, cleaning liquid such as water, trichlorethylene or perchlorethylene, is pumped from cleaning container 1 via filter 12 and pipe 7 into container 8 where it is degasified by a partial vacuum produced by pump 11. The liquid is then returned to container 1 via pipe 13. metal parts 2 to be cleaned are immersed therein by basket 3, and oscillator 4 for producing ultrasonic waves is set in operation. A continuously operating system is described in connection with Fig. 2 (not shown).
